Committee Information

The duties of the Medical Executive Committee include:

Making recommendations to the Board regarding the MEC's review of and actions on reports and recommendations from Medical Staff Departments, standing and special committees, officers, and other assigned activity groups relative to the discharge of their delegated administrative responsibilities and upon the findings from the review and evaluation of patient care.

The Physician Hospital Organization Credentialing Committee is a subcommittee of the Credentials Committee. Credentialing procedures include:

  • Review process for advance practice nurses
  • Permission to practice and renewal of permission to practice
  • Review process for all other AHPs
  • Permission to practice and renewal of permission to practice for all other AHPs

Scope of Providers

All medical staff appointees and Advanced Practice Providers practicing within Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center are credentialed through the Department of Medical Staff Services. Any published external directories of contracted and/or employed physicians on the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital provider panel must be credentialed. Physician members of Tri-State Child Health Services Inc. are also credentialed through the Department of Medical Staff Services.
