The Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery, named by U.S. News & World Report as one of the country’s top 10 children’s programs in neurology and neurosurgery, is also the largest and most comprehensive pediatric neurosurgery program in the region.
Our multi-specialty teams evaluate and treat nearly every neurologic disease and disorder of childhood, including:
- neuro-oncology conditions
- craniofacial abnormalities
- epilepsy
- Chiari malformations
- hydrocephalus and other congenital cysts or lesions of the brain or spine
- spasticity
- spina bifida
- spinal disorders
- traumatic and post-traumatic disorders of the brain and spine
- blood vessel lesions such as aneurysms and arteriovascular malformations.
Fixing the Untreatable
Using technology unavailable elsewhere, our skilled neurosurgeons are able to remove certain deep-seated tumors and other brain lesions previously considered inoperable.
One such technique is SMART (Stereotactic Minimal Access Resection Technique) surgery, which uses special computer-guided navigation to remove lesions with minimal blood loss, pain and scarring.
