  • The Compassionate Friends, Cincinnati Chapter

    A national mutual assistance, self‑help organization offering friendship and understanding to bereaved parents, grandparents and adult siblings.

    East Group:

    This group meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month, 7 pm. We moved (temporarily) to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 7770 Beechmont Ave., Cincinnati, OH, 45230. We will meet in the parish building on the second floor. (Please call prior to attending the meeting so that the correct location can be verified.)

    A Casual Peer Support Group for Families Suffering the Loss of a Baby or Infant

    Companions on a Journey Grief Support: Bereaved Parents Group

    This group is designed for any parent who has suffered the death of a child, no matter what age at the time of death.     Companions on a Journey Grief Support: Perinatal / Neonatal Loss Group

    This group is designed for parents who have lost a child from miscarriage to birth or the first year of life.     Hearts: Support Group

    Peer-led support group for parents who have lost a child through molar or ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, premature birth, stillbirth, neonatal death, SIDS and birth defects. This group meets the second Monday of each month from 6:30-8 pm at Florence United Methodist Church, Room L12 (Green Room - lower level of church), 8585 Old Toll Road, Florence, KY 41042.     Healing Together Support Group

    Loss of an Adult Child Support Group

    MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving)

    Parents of Murdered Children (POMC), National Office

    A peer‑led, self‑help support group for the families and friends of those who have died by violence. POMC is a national organization dedicated solely to the aftermath and prevention of murder.     Vilomah’s Journey Support Group

    Vilomah’s Journey is a network of parents who have experienced the loss of their child through cancer. We are a support group for those adjusting to a “new normal” as well as a group committed to projects that bring awareness of our journey and to support families entering this journey. The group meets from 7-9 pm on the second Wednesday of each month at the Ft. Wright office, and the fourth Wednesday of each month at the Blue Ash location of the Cancer Support Community.     Children’s Program, Cancer Family Care

    Companions on a Journey Grief Support: Mending Hearts Program for Grieving Children, Teens and Families

    A faith-based, ongoing grief support program for children ages 4-18 and their families who have experienced a death. Groups meet on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, 5720 Hamilton-Mason Rd., Liberty Township, OH 45011.     Fernside, Center for Grieving Children

    A place of comfort and support for children and teens, ages 3-18, and their parents / guardians who have had a significant death in the family. Fernside offers a variety of support groups for children, parents and guardians (see groups / locations below). Families may register for the program by contacting Fernside at 513-246-9140.

    ALS Survivors Group Dinner and Social

    This group meets tri-yearly at a local restaurant. This group is for those who have experienced the death of a loved one to ALS and enjoy the informal support and companionship of others who have experienced a similar loss.     A New Day

    Circle of Women: Mother Loss Support Group

    Support group to address the needs of women learning to cope with the death of their mothers.     Good Grief

    A bereavement support group open to the public. Sponsored by Dearborn Co. Hospital Hospice. Meets for eight sessions in Lawrenceburg, IN. The group is facilitated by a professional staff member and a hospice grief volunteer, both spousal loss survivors. New groups start every spring and fall.     Grief Coaching Group

    A grief coach has the tools and expertise to skillfully guide individuals through the process of mourning their loss and getting started on the next phase of their journey. We begin by recognizing an individual's ability to heal, address issues, confront challenges and take action. The role of the grief coach is to bring these attributes to the surface at a time when they may not be apparent to a struggling survivor. Coaching involves forging a positive vision for the future and creating strategies for achieving specific life goals with an emphasis on action and accountability. Pre-registration is required.     Grief Share: Journey from Mourning to Joy

    Non‑denominational group for those grieving the death of someone close that features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics.     Companions on a Journey Grief Support: New Beginnings Widowed Group      

    This group is designed to help widowed persons in the initial stages of grief; typically this will be the first 12-18 months, depending on each person’s grief recovery.     Spouse Loss Group

    Support group for those who have experienced the loss of a spouse. The group will explore the full scope and dimension of loss, the physiological and psychological symptoms of grief, and changes in personal relationships with family and friends.     Grief Recovery Method: Grief Support Group

    The Grief Recovery Method Grief Support Group creates a safe environment and teaches correct action choices that help people move beyond the pain caused by loss. In this 12-week program, you will examine beliefs about dealing with loss, look at various losses which have affected your life, and take actions that lead to completion of the pain caused by a recent loss or one that occurred long ago.  A Tuesday evening group meets at Crossroads Hospice in Blue Ash; a Wednesday afternoon group meets at the Cancer Support Community in Blue Ash; and groups are also held in Westwood, Hamilton, Mt.
