Psychiatry

  • Programs and Services

The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Cincinnati Children’s offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services.

Our 69-bed inpatient program is split between two locations: the College Hill Campus and the Cincinnati Children’s Main Campus. We focus on stabilizing and caring for children and adolescents in acute crisis situations. Average length of stay is eight days.

The Division of Psychiatry also offers a specialized acute inpatient program for children and adolescents with a primary psychiatric DSM-IV diagnosis, along with any of the following secondary diagnoses:

    • Intellectual disabilities
    • Pervasive developmental disorders (PDD)
    • Fetal alcohol syndrome
    • Non-verbal learning disabilities
    • Autism / Asperger's spectrum

Our residential treatment program features 33 beds at the College Hill Campus. The program serves children and adolescents who suffer from chronic mental health problems. Average length of stay is 120 days.

Outpatient services are available at three locations: the College Hill Campus, the Main Campus on Burnet Avenue and the Behavioral Health Center in Mason.

And our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), a day program at our College Hill Campus, helps children and adolescents better manage school anxiety, difficult emotions, problematic behavior and mental illness.

Thanks to the broad range and location of our facilities, our team can create a care plan that best meets the individual needs of your child and family.
