Teacher and School Consultation
Teacher and school consultation from the Center for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center assists in identifying a child's educational and behavioral needs at school and develops and implements a plan to meet those needs.
We can:
- Observe your child at school and talk with your child's teacher to assess concerns
- Meet with your child's teacher to discuss classroom interventions and accommodations
- Attend formal meetings with parents at their child's school (such as IEP or 504 meetings)
- Talk with you and your middle or high–schooler about study and organizational skills and develop a homework contract
Teacher and school consultation services are available to families who have been evaluated through the center as well as to families who have sought evaluations elsewhere. If your child is being evaluated through our clinic, the clinician will talk in more detail with you about these services.
If your child has not been evaluated through our clinic, we will ask that you come to the clinic for a one–hour intake session before meeting with school personnel. The purpose of this meeting is to gather information from you about your child's strengths and weaknesses, review reports of previous testing and formulate goals for your child's educational services.
This service is not covered by most insurance companies. The cost for this service is offered on a sliding scale fee-for-service basis.
