Overview
At the Cincinnati Childrens Hospital Medical Center Adult Genetics Clinic, services are available for individuals over the age of 18 who have, or are at risk of having, a genetic condition.
In addition to adults with developmental disabilities and people diagnosed with genetic conditions as children, we also see individuals with genetic conditions that are commonly diagnosed in adulthood such as hemochromatosis, hypercholesterolemia, and polycystic kidney disease.
Our goal is to work with primary healthcare providers to provide coordinated health care services. Adult Genetics Clinic staff address the health care issues specific to the condition.
We provide management recommendations counseling about the genetics of the condition and the risk to other family members; testing, when available; and information about assisted reproductive technology options when appropriate.
