Conditions Treated
The Aerodigestive and Sleep Center treats children with:
- Chronic airway disorders requiring tracheotomy, ventilation or supplemental oxygen
- Neurologic and sleep disorders affecting ventilation
- Anatomic disorders of the pharynx, larynx or esophagus that limit oral feeding
- Feeding and swallowing disorders or special feeding needs
Special conditions treated at the center include:

Airway obstruction
Aphonia
Apnea (central and obstructive)
Bronchomalacia
Bronchopulmonary dysplasia
Caustic ingestion with stricture
Chronic aspiration (tracheotomy dependent)
Colon interposition
Craniofacial syndromes that cause airway obstruction and associated feeding problems
Dysphagia
Esophageal atresia
Esophageal web or stricture
Feeding disorders
Gastroesophageal reflux (GER)
Glottic stenosis
Hypoplastic lung
Hypoventilation
Interstitial lung disease
Laryngeal atresia
Laryngeal cleft
Laryngeal web
Laryngeal/tracheal/bronchial papillomatosis (sexually transmitted diseases)
Laryngomalacia (usually severe cases)
Oral aversion
