Open Positions
Faculty positions in developmental neurobiology are available at all levels as part of a well-funded collaboration between clinical and basic science divisions at Cincinnati Children's to build a major program in Developmental Neurobiology. They will be joint appointments between the Divisions of Pediatric Anesthesia (Director: C. Dean Kurth, MD) and Developmental Biology (Director: Chris Wylie, PhD). The growing developmental neurobiology group is headed by Masato Nakafuku, MD, PhD. Candidates with strong physiology backgrounds will also be offered a joint appointment in the Department of Physiology, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
We are seeking candidates with either a PhD or MD (or both), who will establish research programs in synaptogenesis or related fields within the scope of developmental neurobiology, using genetic, molecular, physiological or cellular methods, either in vertebrate or invertebrate model systems. Work that leads to a greater understanding of the mechanisms of alterations in, or recovery of, neural plasticity following ischemic injury in the immature brain will be especially welcome.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a community of basic and clinical scientists working together in well-equipped and funded research space. The positions will provide generous startup and remuneration packages, and will be tenure-track positions in the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
