Clinical Training
3rd Year AuD Extern Opportunities
We offer a 10-week rotational, competency-based experience during fall and spring semesters. Students will rotate through specialty areas receiving exposure to behavioral evaluations, ABR, newborn and infant hearing screening / follow-up in the intensive care environment, cochlear implants, hearing aids, vestibular testing, aural / audiologic rehabilitation, and (central) auditory processing evaluations.

4th Year AuD Extern Opportunities
We offer four full-time paid externships each May. Externs are hired for a 12-month competency-based experience. Three externships are solely clinical. The other is a Maternal and Child Health Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (MCH LEND) Interdisciplinary Training Program grant position with 50% clinical and 50% research emphasis.
Students in both positions have a clinical supervisor but also receive exposure to many audiologists at our main campus and seven satellite locations. The students will be rotated through the various aspects of pediatric Audiology. On-site continuing education opportunities are shared with 4th year externs at no cost to them.
Students interested in a 4th year placement should submit a resume and cover letter in the Fall / Winter of their 3rd year. The deadline for applications is December 15, interviews are held in January and candidates are chosen by February 15. Additional concentrated experiences may be available based on areas of interest.
