Mission

The Aaron W. Perlman Center for Children at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is a division of United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cincinnati (UCP), a United Way Agency. UCP of Greater Cincinnati, through its children's services, has been affiliated with Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center for over two decades.

In 1994, UCP's children's center was dedicated and renamed the Aaron W. Perlman Center for Children, honoring a dedicated physician in the Cincinnati community.

Perlman Center: A Community Leader

The Aaron W. Perlman Center for Children is the only community and regional resource that offers state-of-the-art, therapy-based services and community support focused on a singular goal achieving independence and inclusion for children with physical disabilities. It is recognized as a model program for children of all ages with chronic physical conditions or disabilities.

The programs of the Perlman Center are designed to address changing needs of children as they develop from their early years to adulthood.

From direct and intensive rehabilitation services during the early years of critical development to ongoing support of older children and youth during their school years, the Perlman Center offers a continuity of therapy-based services and service coordination focused on supporting the child, the family, the schools and the community in providing a sound foundation for later independent living.

UCP's programs continue to be developed as needs change and new treatments and technologies become available. The Perlman Center has led the way in addressing these needs, aided by its affiliations with Cincinnati Children's and United Cerebral Palsy Associations, as well as extensive collaborative relationships in the community.
