Bio

After obtaining an MS in Lifespan Developmental Psychology, Marc D. Kepner, PsyD, worked in the field of gerontology with adults who were abused and neglected. During his graduate studies, he shifted his area of interest to clinical health psychology, particularly in relation to children and adolescents. During Internship, he provided treatment and assessment services for children and adolescents ages 5 - 22, dually diagnosed as Educable Mentally Handicapped (EMH) or Trainable Mentally Handicapped (TMH) and Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) in conjunction with the Miami-Dade County Public School system.

He has also worked with children who experienced the loss of family members. In addition, he has provided group and individual treatment for adolescents and women with eating disorders and well as individual counseling for adolescent males who are gay and bisexual.

Funded by Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel in conjunction with Easter Seals of Broward County, Mentoring for Adolescents with Gender and Sexual Identity Concerns, coauthored grant proposal.
