Giving to Hematology / Oncology
Working in partnership with the Children's Hospital Foundation, the development office raises money through special events, family foundations and local corporations and individuals in support of the Hematology / Oncology Division.
The development office focuses on funding for research, clinical care, physician education and child life needs for patients with cancer and serious blood disorders such as hemophilia, fanconi anemia, sickle cell disease, hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) and other blood and immunologic diseases.
Opportunities Funding Creates:
- Ongoing research studies in targeted chemotherapy aimed at reducing the toxic effects of treatment for cancer
- Support of our Hematology / Oncology Outpatient Treatment Center
- Toys and games for children undergoing treatment
- Parties and activities for patients and their families
- Special funds to support research in causes and prevention of such diseases as HLH, leukemia, hemophilia and sickle cell disease
