Factor Program

The Hemophilia Factor Program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center strives to make hemophilia care a small part of the child's life. To help with this effort, the Factor Program provides patients and families with quality supplies and personalized services from professional staff.

Staff

Our staff consists of pharmacists, a financial coordinator and customer service personnel to take care of the medical needs of the child. Patients and families can expect personalized attention from our staff, including the follow comprehensive services:

  • Delivery of supplies when needed based on the child's schedule
  • Personalized service for insurance and financial concerns to minimize expenses
  • 24-hour a day service, supervised by a registered pharmacist in the Home Care Pharmacy
  • Convenient access to home products
  • Travel packs for use when vacationing or traveling

Cost and Proceeds

The Factor Program costs significantly less than the average home care service. Proceeds from the Factor Program provide funding to the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center, enabling support for a wide range of comprehensive services for the child, including:

  • Physical therapy exams
  • Dental exams
  • Counseling services
  • Genetic services
  • Summer hemophilia camp
  • Parent and family education programs
  • Weekend hemophilia family retreats
  • Emergency assistance for families in need
