The Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center benefits from the leadership of two nationally prominent specialists. John P. Perentesis, MD, FAAP, is recognized nationally for his research efforts in new pediatric anti-cancer drug development. Dr. Perentesis serves on the national steering committees for the National Cancer Institute Pediatric Phase I consortium and the New Approaches to Neuroblastoma Therapy Consortium. His laboratory studies the biology of cancer and develops new anti-cancer drugs.
Co-director Brian D. Weiss, MD, has extensive experience in targeted anti-cancer radiotherapy for neuroblastoma. As study chair for several national neuroblastoma clinical trials, Dr. Weiss is helping to create the next generation standard of care.
