About the Cancer & Blood Diseases Institute

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, a blood disease or immune deficiency disorder, finding the right medical care is every family's first and most important step. Today, more and more families are choosing Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, a special place where hematology, oncology, bone marrow transplantation and immune deficiency specialists have earned a strong reputation for providing sophisticated treatments and cutting-edge research.

The Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute at Cincinnati Children’s closely integrates patient care and research in order to advance knowledge and achieve better outcomes for our patients and their families.

Each year, experts at the Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute care for about 3,500 children and adolescents. Last year we had more than 15,000 outpatient visits and over 1,300 inpatient admissions, and performed more than 90 blood and marrow transplants.
