Making Life Better for Patients

At Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, we know that dealing with a diagnosis of cancer, a blood disease or immune deficiency disorder takes an emotional toll. That’s why we’ve developed so many programs to help these patients enjoy as normal a life as possible, even in the midst of medical treatment. Your financial support can strengthen these programs and make a positive impact on the children and adolescents we serve, as well as their families.

  • At Cincinnati Children’s we believe all children, even those with chronic or acute illnesses, should be able to experience summer camp. That’s why we offer a week-long overnight summer camp experience for children with cancer, a blood disease or immune deficiency disorder. It’s an opportunity for kids ages 7-16 to experience traditional camp activities and unite with others facing similar challenges. The per-child cost to attend a medical camp for one week is $500, but campers are asked to pay only a nominal registration fee. Donations help defray the costs, which include providing trained counselors, medical equipment and supplies, camp supplies and T-shirts.
  • The School Intervention Program and Bedside Education Program at Cincinnati Children’s help children with cancer, blood diseases and immune disorders keep up in school and make the transition back to the classroom when their condition allows. Your support can help pay for materials and teacher salaries.
  • Recovering from a brain tumor is difficult for not only the patient, but for the entire family. Learn more about how you can help families and improve the long-term quality of life for brain tumor patients through The Max Paul Fund.
