Bio

Erica S. Pearl, PsyD, received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. In September 2004, she joined the Trauma Treatment Replication Center, a joint collaborative of the Mayerson Center for Safe and Healthy Children and the Childhood Trust, to provide training and consultation to community providers in the area of evidence-based treatments for traumatized children and families.

Dr. Pearl began working with traumatized children during her graduate studies, and she furthered this training during her predoctoral internship at the University of California Davis Children's Hospital CAARE (Child and Adolescent Abuse Resource and Evaluation) Center and her postdoctoral fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

She has conducted research related to peer abuse and prosocial behavior in elementary school children and is currently working with the Trauma Treatment Replication Center on a study involving the dissemination of evidence-based treatments for traumatized children and their caregivers. Her clinical interests include interventions for children and adolescent victims of child maltreatment (primarily physical and sexual abuse), children exposed to family violence and dissociative disorders. She trains and supervises community providers in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Traumatic Bereavement and Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE), a program for non-clinical providers who interact with traumatized children.
