Operation PaintFest: Creating Brighter Children's Hospitals

Cincinnati Bengals players join Paintfest festivities

The Child Life Program at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati hosted "Operation PaintFest" on June 20, 2001. "Operation PaintFest" was an event joining patients, hospital staff, and volunteers to paint murals of butterflies, tropical fish, and exotic animals on the walls of Cincinnati Children's.

"Operation PaintFest" offers comfort, inspiration, and hope to present and future pediatric patients and families and staff of the medical center through the creation of art. Also, "Operation PaintFest" offered the pediatric patients who participated in the event the therapeutic benefits of working in a team environment and achieving a common goal.

"Operation PaintFest" is offered through a partnership with Pfizer Pediatric Health, The Foundation for Hospital Art, and select children's hospitals across the country to compliment the medical care offered to pediatric patients.

Pfizer Pediatric Health Team operates one of the largest pharmaceuticals programs in the country for low-income, uninsured patients. They support children's health and wellness programs, have expanded volunteerism programs with Pfizer employees and have an ongoing commitment to the mission of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

The Foundation for Hospital Art is a non-profit organization dedicated to comforting hospital patients by surrounding them with colorful murals painted by volunteers worldwide. The Foundation's objective is to offer comfort, inspiration and hope to patients, medical staff and visitors by transforming the hospital environment into a warm, friendly one.
