Fistula in Ano

Fistula in ano is an abnormal channel between the anus and the perinanal skin. It is also referred to as a perineal fistula. This type of fistula can occur secondary to a perirectal abscess or spontaneously. It occurs more commonly in boys and usually presents before one year of age.
