Female Anorectal Defects

Perineal Fistula in Females

Perineal fistula is the most benign of all the defects seen in female patients.

The rectum opens through an abnormal orifice (fistula) located in the perineum, that is, between the genitalia and the anal dimple. These patients have an excellent functional prognosis.
