Developmental Assessment for Infants / Toddlers

Overview

The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics Developmental Assessment Team for Infants and Toddlers (DATIT) at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati is an interdisciplinary team of professionals who offer a play-based developmental assessment to infants and toddlers, birth to 2 years. This arena assessment allows the professionals to observe and interact with the child within a natural environment. The team may include a developmental pediatrician, a clinical nurse specialist, an occupational or physical therapist, an early childhood educator and a nutritionist.

Service coordination is available to these families to assist in connecting them to early intervention services in their community. Selected members of the DATIT team consultwith Children's Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati staff caring for hospitalized infants and toddlers. A developmental consultation with recommendations for developmental interventions as needed isdone.
