Nursing
The nursing staff in the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is dedicated to serving families of children with developmental disabilities and other challenges. Nurses in the division are varied by scope of practice:
- Service Coordinators
- Direct Providers
- Pediatric clinic nurses
- Hospital-based Child Find Specialists
Case managers/service coordinators provide service links for families of children with Cerebral Palsy and Spina Bifida. As the children grow into young adults, the nursing staff continues to provide support and services to them and their families. Advanced Practice Nurses provide follow up for patients seen by our pediatricians to support the child's development and optimal family functioning. Nurses support the pediatric clinic including multidisciplinary clinics in the division though patient assessments, patient education, and medication management.
The Child Find Specialists accept referrals from within Cincinnati Children's and throughout the community to assure families receive services and support they need from programs and services such as Ohio Help Me Grow, the early intervention program in Ohio for young children.
