Initiatives
UCEDD initiatives, rooted in evidence-based practices, include advocacy and support throughout the individual's life span. The UC center strives to provide leadership and direction so that individuals with developmental disabilities and their families have the opportunity to make choices and lead safe, healthy, independent and productive lives to their fullest ability.
Consumer Advisory Committee
Key to the UCEDD is its Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC). The CAC advises the UCEDD in a variety of areas, making sure the center is meeting its responsibilities in accordance with the Developmental Disabilities Act and is responsive to national, state and local needs.
Funding and Membership
The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (DDBP) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is home to the University of Cincinnati University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). The UCEDD is authorized under the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000 (DD Act) and is a member of the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD).
