LSD
The Drug and Poison Information Center (DPIC), located at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, provides timely information about drugs and related issues.
LSD, a potent hallucinogenic substance, is officially called lysergic acid diethylamide, but is also referred to as Acid, Trips, Blotter, Microdots, Doses and Tabs.
LSD is sold on blotter paper with cartoon character and other pictures, in gelatin squares known as windowpane, on sugar cubes or microdots. The term "candy-flipping" has been associated with mixing LSD and ecstasy at the same time.
LSD is known to cause distorted, visual hallucinations. There are psychological risks associated with LSD use as well, especially for those with a history of mental problems. The drug is associated with flashbacks, and users have been known to harm themselves while high on the drug.
