Bio
Todd Glass, MD, attended Trevecca Nazarene College, completing a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry in 1985. Following college, he entered medical school at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. After receiving his MD in 1989, Dr. Glass began his residency in Pediatrics at LeBonheur Children's Medical Center and the University of Tennessee, Memphis.
Upon completion of his training, Dr. Glass entered the United States Air Force. During his active duty years, 1992-1995, he served as Medical Director of the Nursery and Deputy Chief of Pediatrics. He was also medical liaison with base-wide programs responsible for ensuring appropriate investigation, intervention and treatment of families involved in abusive situations.
In 1995, Dr. Glass entered further training as a specialist in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, again at the University of Tennessee. Concurrent with his fellowship, he also started course work and a research project in physiology, with the eventual goal of obtaining a Master of Science Degree. In 1998, Dr. Glass completed both programs, successfully defending his thesis in September of that year.
Dr. Glass began work at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in the summer of 1998. He continues to pursue his clinical practice in Pediatric Emergency Medicine; however, approximately half of his time is spent on laboratory research. His research interests are in traumatic brain injury and the impact of hemorrhagic hypotension in the multiply-injured patient. Dr. Glass hopes to increase our knowledge in this area with an ultimate goal of improving the treatment outcomes in our patients.
