Strengths
Emergency Services at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center offers:
- 24-hour on-site emergency medical coverage;
- 24-hour multidisciplinary trauma team coverage;
- 24-hour consultation with all surgical and medical subspecialties.
Emergency Services provides referring physicians with follow-up information on patient care. It also offers educational programs for prehospital caregivers, and provides expertise in pediatric advanced life support, physical and sexual abuse, and toxicology.
The Children's Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati Emergency Services continues to be the busiest for children in the United States, with approximately 82,000 visits in fiscal year 1998. In anticipation of changes in health care, we have continued our community outreach efforts to help meet the needs of acutely ill or injured children.
