Abnormal weight gain clinic is a special clinic that deals with health issues caused by unusual weight gain. The clinic allows your child to see experts from Endocrinology and the Comprehensive Weight Management Team.
The care your child will receive when visiting us will include:
- A detailed health history to look for any weight related health problems
- Lab tests before or at this appointment to look for health problems
- Your child must be fasting (without food or drink) for these labs
- A plan of care specific to your child's needs that may include:
- Further testing
- Exercise program
- Changes to your child's diet
Patients seen in abnormal weight gain clinic may also receive a referral to other weight management programs at Cincinnati Children's Hospital and in the community.
