CURED Million Dollar Research Celebration

On August 17, 2009, the CURED Foundation was recognized by Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and the Cincinnati Center for Eosinophilic Disorders (CCED) for continued donations for research equaling more than $1 million. Marc Rothenberg, MD, PhD, Director of Division of Allergy and Immunology and CCED, along with Arnold Strauss, MD, Professor and Chair, Department of Pediatrics and Director of Cincinnati Children's Research Foundation spoke in acknowledgment of their exceptional commitment and drive to raise funds for the treatment and eventual cure for eosinophilic disorders. Dr. Rothenberg compared their efforts to the principle of Rabbi Hillel “If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am not for others, what am I? And if not now, when?”

To celebrate this momentous occasion, a plaque was added to the Cincinnati Children's Donor Wall outside the Fifth Third Auditorium.

Campaign Urging Research for Eosinophilic Disease (CURED), a non-profit organization, was founded by Ellyn and Fred Kodroff, when their daughter, Jori, was diagnosed with an eosinophilic disease at the age of 10. Determined to help their daughter and others suffering from these disorders, they bravely set out to raise money to find a cure. Overwhelmed by support from the community, they soon founded CURED.
