Cincinnati Children's Dedicates New Research Facility

On Monday, Nov. 19, a dedication ceremony was held for the medical center's new 12-story, 415,000-square-foot research building, also known as Location S. Said Jim Anderson, president and CEO, "The name of the building doesn't even hint at our hopes for what will be accomplished inside it. But I can assure you, our aspirations and expectations are high."

Arnold Strauss, MD, Chair of Pediatrics, physician-in-chief and director of the Cincinnati Children's Research Foundation, told the crowd, "This is the best children's hospital in the United States. I know that because I was at the 10th best hospital until May. The reason I came here was because I knew we could change the world. Imagine what life would be like if we still had polio, if we didn't have surfactant to protect the lungs of premature infants. Well, it's going to happen again. Someone here is going to do something to change the world."
