CURED: Campaign Urging Research for Eosinophilic Disorders
CURED (Campaign Urging Research for Eosinophilic Disorders) is a not-for-profit foundation dedicated to those suffering from eosinophilic esophagitis, eosinophilic gastroenteritis, eosinophilic colitis and other eosinophilic disorders. It is the hope of CURED to raise substantial funding to aid in research and public awareness for this complex disease.
CURED gives 100% of all funds raised to research. Most recently, in May 2009, the CURED Foundation held CURED Walk for Eosinophilic Disease, which was a 3-mile walk sponsored by Kohls, to bring attention to the disorder and organized a silent auction to raise funds to further support the research of Marc Rothenberg, MD.
Past Fund-Raising Efforts
ln May 2007, the CURED Foundation held CURED Day at the Races, where more than 300 people turned out for a great afternoon of horse racing and a great cause. The event raised $80,000 to support the research of Marc Rothenberg, MD.
On March 19, 2006, CURED hosted its third annual bowlathon fundraiser in Buffalo Grove, IL. There was a great showing of patients, friends, and family and a very successful amount of money was raised.
In addition, the second annual bowlathon fundraiser successfully took place in Buffalo Grove, IL on March 13, 2005. Over three hundred people were in attendance and the event included a silent auction and a surprising visit from the local fire department that delivered a donation to the organization. In 2005, CURED has successfully organized fundraiser events in multiple states including Colorado and Michigan and generously made two substantial contributions to Cincinnati Children's Hospital to support Eosinophil research.
On August 16, 2004 Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center received a substantial contribution from CURED to fund a major research project.
