Why Choose Us

Excellent Care

The Comprehensive Epilepsy Program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is one of the largest pediatric epilepsy centers in the world, with national and international recognition. Our multidisciplinary team -- including neurologists, neurosurgeons, nurses, nurse practitioners, neuropsychologists and social workers -- specializes in diagnosing and treating infants, children and adolescents with seizures. This team approach combines a number of effective treatments, including standard antiseizure medications, drug studies, ketogenic diet, epilepsy surgery and vagus nerve stimulator (VNS) implantation.

Whether your child's seizures have just started or the seizures have been poorly controlled for years, our team will work with you and your child to develop an individualized treatment plan to help your child achieve the best quality of life with no seizures and no side effects from therapy.

Our thorough evaluations include state-of-the-art diagnostic testing such as:

  • EEG
  • Ambulatory EEG
  • Video/EEG monitoring
  • SPECT
  • PET
  • fMRI
  • Neuro Scan

Because your child will see a variety of specialists, appointments take longer than a routine doctor's appointment and typically last one to three hours.
