Partnering Organizations

Every Child Succeeds is regional program designed to ensure an optimal start for children.

Every Child Succeeds is a collaborative initiative with three founding partners — Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, United Way of Greater Cincinnati, and Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency/Head Start — and 16 lead provider agencies, whose dedicated staff provide home visits and valuable data to help Every Child Succeeds continuously improve the services provided to families.

Every Child Succeeds was founded by three organizations, which continue to play a unique role:

Lead Provider Agencies

Every Child Succeeds is a CETconnect Proud Partner.

At the heart of Every Child Succeeds is our home visitation program, which is made possible by 16 lead provider agencies who hire, train and supervise the home visitor who conduct home visits. All of these agencies have a proven track record of serving the children and families of our community, and work closely with Every Child Succeeds to ensure that services are provided in an effective, cost-efficient way.

Home visitors are professionals who come from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines including nursing, education, child development and human services. They receive extensive training in the areas of parenting, child development, early literacy, home safety and health. Approximately 90 hours of training are required the first year. On average, these individuals serve 25 families at one time, spending about an hour weekly, biweekly or monthly with the family, depending on the child's age.

Throughout a family's participation in Every Child Succeeds, home visitors collect information about the child's development, caregiver functioning, family characteristics and community supports. Home visitors share these data with Every Child Succeeds, which allows the program to continuously evaluate and improve its services. Results are disseminated through annual report cards, professional publications and regional and national conferences.

Success Story: Rebecca and Nick

Rebecca was only 11 when her mother died of heart failure. She moved to northern Kentucky to live with her father and, during her teen years, Children's Protective Services became involved in Rebecca's life. When the caseworker realized that Rebecca had a baby, she referred her to Every Child Succeeds for support. Rebecca and Nick now have two children. Nick is a very involved father, and he participates in many home visits. Rebecca keeps a binder containing all the information her home visitor has provided about child health and development. The home visitor encouraged Rebecca to pursue her educational goals, and now Rebecca attends Brown Mackie College for Nursing. To help make ends meet for this young family, the home visitor researched housing assistance programs. Rebecca and Nick were recently accepted for Section 8 housing.
