During Your Visit
You and your child will visit the Feeding Team for an evaluation at our main campus. At your appointment, a number of health care professionals will meet with you to evaluate the problems your child is experiencing.
You can expect your appointment to range from two to three hours.
The various team members will:
- Review your child's medical and feeding history
- Evaluate your child's nutritional status, growth and current feedings
- Evaluate your child's positioning and posture control
- Evaluate your child's overall oral-motor skills, specifically those related to feeding
- Discuss your child's developmental history
- Screen for medical problems related to the feeding disorder
- Observe feedings (oral and tube feedings)
After assessing your child's needs, the Feeding Team will develop a plan with you and your child. It will be specially tailored to meet your child's specific needs. The aim of the plan is to improve your child's nutritional status and make feedings less stressful for your child and the family.

After Your Visit
After your appointment, we will send you a full written report summarizing the evaluation to you, your child's primary physician and others you designate. We may recommend that specific team members be involved in an ongoing treatment plan.
Follow-up evaluations to re-assess your child's progress and to modify the treatment plan as necessary.
