The Division of General and Community Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is a leader in improving child health and serving children in need through its clinical services, education and research.

The General and Community Pediatrics Division provides care to over 60,000 primary care visits at an array of primary care sites throughout the greater Cincinnati area, with a particular focus on underserved populations.

In addition to outpatient primary care services, there is a high quality inpatient service that provides exceptional care to patients referred by community physicians with an emphasis on communication with those physicians.

In addition, there is a Diagnostic Clinic for second opinions and a Lead Clinic for children with elevated lead levels requiring clinical management.

Life-long education of physicians and providers is another hallmark of the Division. The Division has the second largest Continuity Clinic in the country an annually trains over 60 Residents.

Physicians from medical students to pediatric and family medicine residents are educated in the principles of state-of the-art concepts in pediatric primary and general care, with a focus on patient-centered care.

Faculty Development Courses and the Online Masters in Education Program are additional education venues provided to community and faculty physicians.

The research section of the General and Community Pediatrics Division is focused on clinical and health services research in the areas related to general pediatrics and childhood antecedents of adult disease.

In primary care, the Division is one the top funded Divisions in the country and includes the Children's Environmental Health Center and the Cincinnati Pediatric Research Group / CPRG, a community-based research network.

The General and Community Pediatrics Division also has one of the few, nationally recognized Primary Care Research Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Health.
