Overview
The Diagnostic Clinic at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center assists community physicians who wish to refer infants, children and teens for second opinions or consultations. We help physicians in managing complex problems or difficult-to-diagnose illnesses. For children with mental health or learning problems, referral to the Psychiatry Division or the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics is recommended.

How We Work
Patients will be scheduled to fit the needs of the family and referring physician. Our goal is to see the families the next business day. To assure that we are effective and helpful, we ask that you fax copies of appropriate medical records, 513-636-7247.
The referring physician will be called within 24 hours of the visit and will receive a written report within a week of the visit. If further consultation by faculty members in other medical subspecialties is necessary, this will be arranged after discussion with the referring physician.
We will send a map, directions and parking instructions to our patients and families. Parking is free. A representative from our Call Center will preregister the patient if time allows. In addition, if there is anything else we can do for you, please feel free to call the office at any time.
We hope this service meets your needs and allows you to provide the best care possible for your patients.

Referrals
Patients referred for consultation will be seen by Steve Muething, MD, and other faculty members from the General and Community Pediatrics Division at Cincinnati Children's.
To schedule an appointment for a consultation or second opinion, call Physician Priority Link, 513-636-7997, 1-800-344-2462 ext 6-7997. Ask for the Diagnostic Clinic. The hours of the clinic are Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
