About

Biography

I’m an endoscopist with more than 30 years of experience in advanced endoscopic techniques for stricture management and gastrointestinal bleeding. I also direct Cincinnati Children’s Endoscopy Services.

As a pediatric gastrointestinal (GI) doctor, I treat children and adolescents with a variety of disorders related to their GI tract. These conditions include:

  • Disorders of the esophagus, such as inflammatory disease including gastroesophageal reflux disease, eosinophilic esophagitis and caustic ingestion
  • Congenital disabilities, such as tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF) and strictures
  • Post-surgical strictures

I also see patients who have cyclic vomiting syndrome, as well as patients with complex disorders affecting both the GI and respiratory tract, which are known as aerodigestive disorders.

Our experienced, multidisciplinary team approaches each of these conditions as a team that includes the patient and their family. It's always been easy for me to relate to children and gain their confidence. My philosophy of care is to do it all, do it now and do it right.

Although I don't directly supervise research projects, I’m involved with studies assessing new approaches to the evaluation and management of eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders, including new biologic therapies.

In my free time, I like to fish. I am also a classical pianist.
