Education

Overview

Pharmacogenetic testing may improve patient safety.

The Genetic Pharmacology Service (GPS) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center provides education about pharmacogenetics, clinical pharmacology and genetic testing.

Currently, face-to-face lectures are provided by GPS faculty or staff. A streamed audio-video presentation of the Pediatric Grand Rounds on pharmacogenetics given by Tracy Glauser, MD, in July 2004 can be accessed by visiting For Health Care Professionals.

A succinct patient handout about pharmacogenetic testing is available on this site, as well as within the Medications section of Health Topics. Audio slide presentations and web-based self-paced modules on GPS related topics will be available in 2005.
