Admitting, Referring or Transferring Patients
Hospital Admissions
A patient may be admitted directly to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center by the referring physician by contacting Physician's Priority Link at 513-636-7997 or toll free at 1-888-636-7997. Ask to speak to the physician on call for Direct Admissions, who will arrange the admission to GIS.
Referrals to the Emergency Department
Because some patients may need evaluation and treatment in the Emergency Department before admission to the hospital, the referring physician may refer a patient to the Emergency Department by calling Physician's Priority Link at 513-636-7997 or toll free at 1-888-636-7997, which will refer the call to the STATline in the Emergency Department. It is helpful if the referring physician advises STATLine that if the patient is admitted, the patient will be on GIS. When the patient is admitted to the hospital, the GIS physician will be notified.
Transfers from Another Hospital
Patients may be transferred from other hospitals to the GIS at Cincinnati Children's by calling Physician's Priority Link at 513-636-7997 or toll free at 1-888-636-7997. Please ask to speak with the physician on-call for Direct Admissions, who will arrange the transfer and admission.
