The Division of Pediatric Surgery at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center has established several training programs in which individuals participate in the broad clinical and academic experiences offered by specialized centers under the division. These positions are designed to be filled by general surgery trained individuals who come for one-year specialized experience, serving as fellows for one of several specialty centers, or trained pediatric surgeons who desire additional specialized experience.
The goal of these positions is to enable the trainees to gain expertise in specialized areas, which will enhance their opportunities for application for more formal general pediatric surgical fellowships in the future. For those individuals who have already completed training in pediatric general surgery, the program will enhance their expertise in specialized surgeries in anticipation of a sub-specialization in one of these areas.
