Through an interdisciplinary approach, the division delivers the highest quality of care for the newborn, child and young adult with congenital or acquired cardiovascular disease.
Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery
The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery has a particular focus on the complete correction of defects in the newborn period, and management of complex single ventricle cardiac defects. As an integrated component of the Heart Institute, the division ranks in the Top 10 nationally in the management of cardiac problems in children.
Division of Molecular Cardiovascular Research
The Division of Molecular Cardiovascular Research is devoted to understanding the basic causes of pediatric cardiovascular disease and is focused on carrying out state-of-the-art studies directed at normal and abnormal cardiac function and development to ultimately develop innovative cardiovascular treatments for patients.
The structure of the Heart Institute allows for researchers, physicians and nurses to interact daily, with the goal of defining new disease pathways and developing novel treatments for pediatric cardiovascular disease as well and ensuring state-of-the-art clinical care for our patients.
