Family Resources
At the Heart Institute at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, we emphasize family-centered care, working with primary care physicians and family members to ensure that their expertise goes as smoothly as possible. Centralized, integrated scheduling of visits, tests and procedures allows us to see children efficiently and enables families to keep their focus where it belongs: on your child.
We offer a wide variety of services and programs to patients and their families. Our resources for families can ease the stress of hospital stays, clearly explain invasive procedures and provide comfort in the face of life-altering diagnosis. From support groups to social services, maps to billing information, we are here to help.
The Family Resource Center
Offering a comfortable setting staffed by skilled professionals, the Family Resource Center is the place to find comprehensive, up-to-date information about a diagnosis or condition. Visitors are welcome to use our computers to send and receive email, access the Internet and work with CarePages, our patient web pages service.
Guest Services
Our Guest Services program offers assistance with lodging, transportation and activities to families who travel to the medical center from out of town. Guest Services can be reached at 513-636-5009, or toll-free: 1-800-344-2462, ext. 6-5009.
CarePages
Patients and families at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center can use CarePages to allow family and friends to stay in touch before, during and after hospitalization. Using CarePages, you can create and update a free, private and personalized web page where you can share your latest news with friends and family, and receive messages of support.
Interpreter Services
The Heart Institute provides care to children from all over the world. We offer in-house interpreters to Spanish-speaking patients and their families and arrange medical interpreters in other languages. Heart Institute Camp Programs
Children who grow up with heart disease face significant physical and emotional challenges. Through our camp programs we help children overcome these challenges and develop a support network.
