Arrhythmia Clinic
The Arrhythmia Clinic at the Heart Institute at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center offers world-class care in diagnosing and treating complex cardiac symptoms such as palpitations, fast and irregular heartbeats, syncope (fainting) and pre-syncope, and exercise intolerance.
A Midwest leader in treating arrhythmias in children, the Heart Institute has the latest technologies and a dedicated team to correctly diagnose and treat the complex symptoms associated with arrhythmias.
What to Expect During Your First Visit
During an initial visit to the Arrhythmia Clinic, children undergo a relatively painless evaluation conducted by a nurse, including height and weight, vital signs and an electrocardiogram (EKG). Results of these tests are reviewed by pediatric cardiac electrophysiologists, doctors who specialize in diagnosing and treating heart rhythm abnormalities. The specialists also review your child's complete medical and family histories and review any prior tests. A complete physical examination is performed by the physician, and a diagnosis and plan for treatment or further evaluation are determined.
