Molecular and Genetic Cardiology Program
The Molecular and Genetic Cardiology Program, part of the interdisciplinary Heart Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, has a strong commitment to molecular research, as it is certain to have an important impact on the understanding of cardiac malformations and the ability to diagnose and treat pediatric cardiovascular disorders in the future.
D. Woodrow Benson, Jr., MD, PhD, joined the Molecular and Genetic Cardiology program in January 2001 to lead initiatives in the molecular genetics of congenital heart disease. This program is closely aligned to the Division of Molecular Cardiovascular Biology directed by Jeffrey Robbins, PhD, to translate molecular science to the field of clinical Pediatric Cardiology.
