About Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center offers the breadth and depth of experience you will need to prepare for a successful clinical and scientific career in pediatric hematology/oncology.  Cincinnati Children's is one of the nation's largest freestanding children's hospitals. Our medical and research staff comprise the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.  The department ranks in the top three pediatric centers in the United States in terms of National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding, and it consistently is ranked among the top four pediatric medical school programs in the country by U.S.News and World Report. There is a concerted effort at Cincinnati Children's to provide funding for the important transition years between fellowship and faculty positions for selected fellows.  Cincinnati Children's is a national leader in clinical and basic science research. In fiscal year 2004, we had more than 400 faculty members and secured more than $80 million in direct NIH funding, leading to extramural funding of $120 million and a total research budget of more than $250 million per year. The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, located across the street from our main campus, provides an additional site for academic training and education.
