World-Class Faculty

Innovative research and clinical care for children with blood diseases and cancer have been major initiatives at Cincinnati Children's since Kenneth Blackfan, MD, served as the first Rachford Professor of Pediatrics in 1922. Since then, many faculty members within the division – including William Schubert, MD; Beatrice Lampkin, MD; and Alvin Mauer, MD – have contributed to the rich history at Cincinnati Children's. There currently are more than 50 faculty members participating in clinical care and/or research within the divisions of Hematology/Oncology and Experimental Hematology. Our faculty members have a strong presence within the Children's Oncology Group and other national organizations. Cincinnati Children's is accredited by the American College of Surgeons, the Children's Oncology Group, the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapies, the Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies, and the National Marrow Donor Program
