The Hereditary Cancer Program at Cincinnnati Children's Hospital Medical Center has been in existence since 1996 and has served thousands of patients regarding concerns related to hereditary predisposition to cancer. Many of these patients have been adults who have personal and family histories of adult-onset malignancies. There are, however, many genetic conditions and hereditary cancer syndromes that can result in significant risk of cancers or tumors in children.
In collaboration with Cincinnati Children's experts in pediatric oncology, this new program will promote comprehensive evaluation and follow-up for children at risk. Other pediatric specialists will also be involved in this multidisciplinary clinic to ensure thorough care and to streamline clinic visits for our patients.
