Patient and Family Satisfaction Plan
At Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, patient care and safety is our top priority. Our staff is committed to excellence and all employees pledge to uphold our Customer Service Standards. If you have a concern about the care and / or safety of one of our patients, please contact us following these steps.
Step One
If you have questions and concerns about:
- The care or safety of your child, contact the Home Care primary nurse or the nurse on call at 513-636-4663. For private duty nursing concerns call 513-636-2999.
- Medications, deliveries or pharmacy supplies, contact the Home Care Pharmacy or the pharmacist on call at 513-636-4663.
- Your home medical equipment, contact Home Medical Equipment or the respiratory therapist on call at 513-636-4663.
- Billing, contact a Home Care Financial Representative at 513-636-1292 from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday
Step Two
If your concern is not resolved to your satisfaction, please contact the appropriate department director in the Home Care office or contact the Home Care Administrator on call at 513-636-4663.
Step Three
If your concern is still not resolved to your satisfaction, please contact the Division of Family and Community Relations by calling 513-636-4700.
Cincinnati Children's is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). If you feel that your safety concern isn't being resolved by us, please contact the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) through their web site complaint@jcaho.org or by calling JCAHO's toll free number 1-800-994-6610.
Patients or their representatives may also lodge a grievance with their state health department.

A few weeks after discharge from our Home Care Program, you will receive a letter notifying you of a telephone interview in which you will be asked questions about your experience with Home Care from Cincinnati Children's. Please take this opportunity to evaluate our services. Also, identify by name any health care providers you found to be especially helpful so that we may recognize them for their outstanding efforts.
