An Interdisciplinary Team at Cincinnati Children's
The Hemangioma and Vascular Malformation Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center offers the convenience of having a spectrum of professional expertise in a single location. It brings together a highly skilled interdisciplinary team of pediatric specialists who collaborate in the evaluation, management, and emotional support of children with vascular lesions.
Our program is based on the special needs of each of our patients, and we welcome and encourage family involvement in helping us to be aware of those needs.
Our director is Richard G. Azizkhan, MD, who is also surgeon-in-chief at Cincinnati Children's. Our medical director is Denise M. Adams, MD, a faculty member in the Division of Hematology / Oncology.

Our medical team is complemented by a program coordinator and research coordinator. A social worker and registered dietician are also available.
All of our physicians all hold faculty appointments at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

Comprehensive Services
Specialists at the center provide a wide range of services for patients and also for referring physicians who would like a second opinion and / or would like to work together in providing ongoing care and support. Our services include:

When to Contact the Hemangioma and Vascular Malformation Center
- If your child's vascular disorder is complex
- If there are complications such as ulceration or bleeding
- If lesions are on the head or neck (such lesions require early evaluation)
- If there is involvement of internal organs
- If there is involvement of extremities
- If your child's diagnosis is unclear
