Why Choose Us?

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center offers expertise in the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic infections in children. Assistance is available with both inpatient and outpatient evaluation and treatment strategies.

Counseling and consultation is provided for patients and prospective parents concerned with risk and outcomes of congenital and perinatal infection and/or exposure.

The infection control program conducts surveillance for infectious diseases diagnosed within the Children's Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati system and interfaces with local, regional and national programs for the purpose of tracking and/or reporting, as needed. For example, tuberculosis exposures can be investigated using the community network.

There are research and clinical microbiology laboratories with complete bacteriology, mycology, virology and serology facilities for routine as well as special diagnostic studies.
