Children Share Hopes, Dreams in 'Amazed World'

By Karen Sparling

We need your internationally adopted children to share their hopes and dreams — the International Adoption Center (IAC) is participating in Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center's Amazed World project.

Korean artist Ik-Joong Kang believes in the power of children to change the world for a better future and the importance of children feeling connected to the whole world and to each other. He has children from all over the world make drawings showing their dreams for the future — who they want to be, how they want the world and their own lives to be, what they like to do, what makes them happy, their secret wishes, and what they, their friends, family and home look like.

He has named this global project "Amazed World." These drawings will be mounted on panels that will be permanently displayed at Cincinnati Children's Sabin Center. These drawings will also be online at www.amazedchildren.com.

There will be an IAC panel featuring 340 drawings of internationally adopted children (6 to 16 years old). If your child would like to participate, contact Barbee Sjodahl (barbee.sjodahl@cchmc.org), 513-636-2877, opt. 2, for information and the drawing materials.

The IAC panel is made possible through the financial support of Ma-Me!, a healthy snack and new product of Bright Future Foods. A generous portion of the sales is donated to the IAC and other adoption-related causes.
